2019 – NISSAN GT-R NAOMI OSAKA SPECIAL EDITION

The Japanese brand returned to present another limited edition of the Nissan GT-R, but on this occasion celebrates the collaboration agreement between the Japanese manufacturer and Naomi Osaka, the young female tennis player of Japanese descent who from now on will be the new ambassador of the Japanese brand. According to the official statement of the brand, the player participated in the development of this new special version, which for now seems to have no name, so we will continue to simply call Nissan GT-R Special Edition. All units will be based on the Nissan GT-R Premium Edition version, so we understand that the standard equipment will be identical to this regular version, since the brand did not specify anything about it in its short press release  porsche car covers.

The true novelty of this new limited edition is the colors, as it will be available with three new body shades: Purple Midnight Opal, White Brilliant White Pearl and Black Meteor Flake Black Pearl. Inside we find three different and striking chromatic combinations of upholstery and trim linings. In addition to the new color schemes, this limited edition features a carbon fiber-finished rear aerofoil and the usual limited-edition commemorative plate that will be housed in the engine bay. This version will only be available in the Japanese market and the brand will start accepting orders starting today, December 20th. The official statement of the brand ensures that the prices of this new version will not be revealed until next month. So the first customers who place the order, if they do so over the next few days, will certainly do so in the dark, without knowing the price.

2019 – NISSAN GT-R50 BY ITALDESIGN

Nissan confirmed the series production of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, officially opening orders for the limited edition of only 50 units of the newest expression of the icon Nissan GT-R. To develop the model, Nissan partnered with Italdesign, a famous Italian studio based in the city of Turin, based on the latest generation of the Nissan GT-R NISMO. The aim was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the GT-R in 2019 and the Italdesign in 2018. The prototype was created with gray body color and gold accents, but customers will have a chance to specify the color combinations of your preference when ordering the limited production model. Customers will also be able to choose internal packages and colors. In addition to the Goodwood Speed Festival, the Nissan GT-R50 prototype also appeared on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, the annual Rolex Monterrey Motorsports Reunion event in the US, and Nissan Crossing, the brand’s gallery located in the trendy district of Ginza, in Tokyo. As of December 7, the model will be on display at the Nissan Gallery, located at the brand’s headquarters in Yokohama, Japan.

“The reaction of Nissan fans around the world – and potential GT-R50 customers – went far beyond our expectations,” said Bob Laishley, world director of the sports car program at Nissan. “These 50 cars, designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of GT-R and Italdesign’s 50th anniversary, are a way to honor Nissan’s leadership and rich heritage of sports cars for many years.” Customers wishing to purchase a GT-R50 and contact Italdesign to create their own car. Deliveries will begin in 2019 and should be extended to 2020.

2019 – NISSAN IMs CONCEPT

Revealed worldwide today at the Detroit Motor Show 2019, the Nissan IMs concept brings revolutionary new proportions and stretched interior space – including an exclusive 2 + 1 + 2 Seats Premier architecture – and is designed to create a brand new vehicle segment, the of high sports sedan. The all-wheel-drive pure electric vehicle with fully autonomous drive capability will be on display throughout the event from January 19-27 at the Cobo Center in Detroit. “This audacious concept, the Nissan IMs, represents the birth of a whole new segment of vehicles: high-performance and electrified sports sedans,” said Denis Le Vot, senior vice president of Nissan North America’s Management Committee, at the Japanese brand in the event. “It makes sense that the first automaker to launch a mass-market electric will bring the future of the high-performance electric sports sedan.” Le Vot also announced that after last week’s debut of the Nissan LEAF and + at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Nissan will launch seven more electric vehicles by 2022. The unique exterior and interior designs of the IM concept are made possible by innovative electric and standalone technology that incorporates Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the company’s vision to change the way cars are driven, driven and integrated into society.

The IM’s propulsion consists of two electric motors (front and rear) and a fast recharge battery of 115 kWh, which delivers 483 hp (360 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. The result is an ideal front-to-rear weight balance, exceptional traction on smooth steering surfaces and excellent cornering performance. Thanks to an advanced air suspension that adapts to different driving situations, the IMs concept has smooth, silky driving quality and flat curves. With an estimated range of 610 km with a single recharge of the battery, the IMs match the performance level of its peers equipped with a gasoline engine. The exterior transforms the style of a traditional sedan into a vehicle with provocative proportions, sporty character and excellent aerodynamics. Exclusive to Nissan, it also seamlessly combines high-tech futuristic qualities with timeless Japanese touches. Nissan’s V-motion design language, which is incorporated into the full line of 2019 brand models, is emphasized on the front panel without front grille of the IMs through the shape and positioning of the headlights. The daring and slim V-shaped lighting design is prominent and practical, giving the entire vehicle a futuristic but distinctive appearance from Nissan while the aggressive 22-inch wheels contribute to the sporty attitude of the vehicle.

In Autonomous Drive mode, headlights and the combination of taillights turn blue and the lighting travels continuously from front to back to notify pedestrians and other drivers of their autonomous status. The exterior also features holographic taillights and a four-door structure without B-columns and reverse-opening rear doors for easy interior access. To emphasize its Japanese character, a traditional geometric pattern ‘Asanoha’ was applied in gold on the surface of the dark glass ceiling. The standard is used throughout the vehicle, including on the wheels and inside the cab. The body is finished with a special paint of ‘liquid metal’ that intends to suggest an imaginary mineral on the moon. The qualities of this color, inspired by the Japanese kimono, subtly highlight the unique and beautiful sculptural form of the IM concept, with changes in gradation. The interior of the IMs concept represents a whole new way of visualizing how future passengers will travel in an autonomous world. Placing a priority on the vehicle’s interior space, all powertrain components were placed completely underneath the cabin floor. In standalone mode, the instant messaging concept can transform from an engaging car into a fully autonomous vehicle, allowing the driver to interact with passengers, get the job done or just take advantage of the numerous entertainment options.

Mastering the rear space is the innovative seat ‘Premier Seat’. This bench of great proportions emerges from the three-seat rear seat when the side positions are folded. The triangular configuration of the seats is also ideal from the point of view of executive travel, allowing the occupant to maximize his / her time by, for example, traveling between the office and an executive aircraft. The interior color treatment uses darker materials in contrast to the lighter and simpler exterior. Golden details are found throughout the interior, providing light elements to the interior in the same way that the Japanese paper door screens provide light to the traditional Japanese tatami rooms. “This IM concept is the latest example of how we envision the future of mobility as we move toward our goal of zero emissions and zero fatalities on the road. It is an advanced study in progressive proportions, which has resulted in a brand new type of high sport sedan, “said Le Vot. “Combining an elegant exterior with a spacious and cozy interior, the IMs concept offers a new type of driving experience, manually, autonomously and virtually.”

2019 – NISSAN KICKS INDIA VERSION

Nissan has just introduced the successful Kicks in India and although at first glance the model looks just like the one marketed in Latin America and the Middle East, the truth is that the Indian Nissan Kicks is quite different from the global model. Despite its similarities, the Nissan Kicks for India starts from a different base, since it uses the B0 platform, the same modular architecture used by Dacia for its entire line and by several models of the Renault-Nissan alliance. The use of the same platform as the previous Duster, means that the Nissan Kicks for India has a longer wheelbase and a longer length, in addition to being wider than the overall model. It is 89 mm longer, 53 mm wider and 66 mm higher, while its wheelbase is 63 mm longer. With these new measures, the Nissan Kicks aimed at the Indian market has a more spacious interior, more amenities for the occupants, and a larger trunk. In terms of design, the differences from the global model are subtle, but they exist. The front part receives some modifications in the format of its V-Motion grid and in the bumper, as well as in the form of the antineblina headlights, while in the rear modifies slightly the bumper, as well as the antenna and the ceiling bars , which in both models are different. As for the supply of engines, the line is made up of two options, one petrol and one diesel, in both cases of Renault origin. The first one is a 1.5 H4K with 106 hp, while the diesel is the known 1.5 K9K with 108 hp, in combination with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission CVT type, always with simple traction to the front axle.
